I got my Game Boy the other day and I'm playing Pokemon Silver. I realized that everyone has the problem that their backup files were closed. So, if I change the battery, I'll still be able to load my saved games

Yes, battary has nothing to do with the memory. While you are correctly registered, I see what happens with the Game Boy.
